I am pleased to see the Province continuing to build on the work of the Affordable Housing Commission.
The Commission was struck by former Premier Stephen McNeil to engage with experts and stakeholders across the province. The result of the Commission’s work was championed during my leadership, making possible the progress being made now.
The extension of rent control to the end of 2023 gives the Government two years to increase the supply in the affordable housing crisis. Urgency remains and I will continue to advocate for our province and on behalf of all my constituents of Timberlea-Prospect, renters specifically, to ensure that all Nova Scotians have an affordable place to live.
