Residents of Halifax Regional Municipality are invited to share their travel experiences in the latest Traveller Opinion Survey. Open from now until August 12, this survey aims to gauge public perception of the region’s transportation network, encompassing walking, rolling, bicycling, transit, and driving.
The municipality is keen to learn more about residents’ travel habits and the factors motivating them to choose sustainable transportation modes. The insights gained from this survey will play a crucial role in shaping the future framework for sustainable transportation in the Halifax region. This effort is especially significant as the most recent survey, conducted in 2019, highlighted changes in travel patterns since the pandemic.
The Traveller Opinion Survey is an integral part of the municipality’s Integrated Mobility Plan (IMP). Endorsed by the Regional Council in 2017, the IMP aims to enhance connections between residents and their communities by improving the movement of people and goods throughout the Halifax region.
The 2024 survey will document and track public perception and awareness of sustainable transportation options, with the results being compared to those of the 2019 survey to measure progress.
